Les Plumes Hotel loves art and literature! If you stay in this charming establishment dedicated to the great lovers of the nineteenth century in the autumn, be sure that you don’t miss the 2015 edition of FIAC: it will take place from October 22 to 25 at the Grand Palais and outside its walls.
The Grand Palace and extramural
This year, between the Grand Palais and many other exhibition spaces, visitors can see the work of 3082 artists. If contemporary art, design and photography always hold a special place for you, Jennifer Flay wishes to honor this with a new exhibition of modern art from the twentieth century. 173 exhibitors will present their works under the glass roof of the Grand Palais, while many courses, exhibitions and events will take place outside the walls.
Tuileries Garden, Natural History Museum and Place Vendôme
As every year, FIAC will be presented in the unique setting of the Tuileries Gardens, where projects that combine sculptures, installations, performances and sound and interactive works will invite public participation. The Tuileries Garden is also the venue for the latest edition of Cinéphémère: 30 minutes films by various artists will be shown every day in the small 14-seat cinema.
FIAC also features a unique course of contemporary work in the Jardin des Plantes and in emblematic places such as the Natural History Museum, the Great Gallery of Evolution and the Menagerie. The course is an opportunity to show the link between art, man and nature.
Finally, this year FIAC will once again present a monumental work on the Place Vendome.
The banks of the Seine
Thanks to the redevelopment of the banks of the Seine, FIAC has opened a new site outside the walls: outdoor courses and exhibits are proposed between the Tuileries Gardens, the gateway of Solferino, the Concorde bridge, Pont Alexandre III and the Grand Palais. As every year, OFFICIELLE, takes place in the dock of the City of Fashion and Design in order to host an extensive programme exclusively dedicated to contemporary art.
Conferences and performance
You can also participate in many discussions and talks during the three days event: Voices of Urgency, meetings organised around poetry and social science in the amphitheatre of honor ENSBA, or the cycle of round tables Art & Science themed art, science and sustainable development. Many events, performances and festivals dedicated to modern and contemporary art will shine through the night - organised by many Parisian galleries who will open their doors on Thursday, October 22, from 18.00 to 22.00
Your stay at Les Plumes Hotel will immerse you in the romantic atmosphere of the nineteenth century. Take a leap through time to discover FIAC, where you can explore the art of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries and the artists of tomorrow.
