Categories : Events, published on : 7/21/15
In summer, the city of Paris takes on the appearance of a holiday village. You can sleep in Les Plumes Hotel, sunbathe and relax on the Paris beach on the Seine by day and enjoy outdoor film screenings in the evening.
Enjoy sports and leisure activities on the beach in Paris
From 20th July to 18th August 2015, the banks of the River Seine will once again be transformed with beach umbrellas, deckchairs, palm trees and fine sand - much to the delight of holidaymakers of all ages. Between the beaches at the Hotel de Ville and the Bassin de la Villette, you will also find petanque, mini golf, water sports (pedal boats, sailing), ballroom dancing, beach volleyball, Tai Chi and much more. Refreshment stands and automatic misters are on hand to cool you down in the hot weather, and free concerts take place on some evenings. The perfect end to a day by the 'seaside' and guaranteed to put you in the holiday mood.
Film festivals by moonlight
On evenings when no concerts are scheduled you can enjoy a movie unlike any other as Paris takes cinema outdoors and under the stars from July 30th to August 9th 2015. Several Parisian parks and gardens will install a giant screen for the night. Sit on the grass or on the chairs provided, and watch classic films in the company of locals who are returning from work, or people who have simply discovered the film festival by chance. In all, 9 cinema sessions are planned, and they'll take place all over the capital. Enjoy a perfect evening with a great film, and don't forget to take a sweater and maybe some mosquito repellent!
